Scone Motor Inn is committed to reducing our environmental impact and carbon footprint.
As part of our ongoing commitment Scone Motor Inn has been a Green Star rated property since 2010. As part of this process all rooms have been fitted with energy saving light globes, water conserving shower roses and dual flush toilets. All air conditioning have replaced with more efficient inverter split systems or ducted Air conditioning. Over the past 4 years we have reduced our energy consumption from 285Kwh / day in 2009 to 175Kwh in 2014. In late 2013 we installed a 5kw solar system to reduce our power consumption and carbon footprint. Our annual water usage has also been reduced by over 100,000 litres P.A during this same period, by installing dual flush toilets and water conserving shower roses.

Scone Motor Inn is also proud supporters of the Devil Ark Project at Barrington Tops. You can donate $2.00 with your booking, which is the cost of feeding one Tasmanian Devil for a day at Devil Ark. Devil Ark is attempting to establish a healthy for Tasmanian Devils for reintroduction to Tasmania in the future.
